Pilot Management System, Thailand Refinery

We have developed this PMS (Pilot Management System) for our client specialized in ignition systems for industrial combustion processes. The PMS protects and controls the processes around the “retractable” ignition burner of a SRU (Sulfur Recovery Unit) installation.

The PMS (SIL 2) has an Allen Bradley Guardlogix Fail-safe PLC with safety and standard (non-safety) Point-IO modules. The system can be operated via the HMI at the front of the panel, or via the modbus serial link that is routed to the clients DCS system.

The PMS enclosure will be placed outside at a possible hazardous area of max class I zone 2, division 2. Therefor the cabinet is made out of stainless steel 316 material and equipped with an Z-purge panel. The Z-purge unit is used to set overpressure on the panel to prevent hazardous gas entering the enclosure.

After a successful acceptance test at our premises, we supported the customer during a SAT (Site Acceptance Test) with a fully operating pilot proving that the PMS is fully functional and ready to be shipped to site.
